What is Friendship? Friendship began more than 40 years ago to extend a warm, caring hand and a smile to international women and their children. The goal is to help make their stay in Austin one filled with joyful friendships and exciting learning opportunities. The Christian women who are today's volunteers share that same passion. Please come and join us--meet new friends, have fun, and learn new things!!

Who is Friendship for? Friendship is for international women. All international women in the Austin area are welcome to come join us.

When does Friendship meet? Begining September 23,2010, Friendship will meet Thursdays from 9:45 AM to Noon. See our calendar for specific dates when classes do not meet.

Where is Friendship? Friendship meets near the University of Texas on the campus of Hyde Park Baptist Church in Friendship Hall. The address is: 3901 Speedway; Austin, TX.

How can I get to Friendship? You can get to Friendship by city bus, UT shuttle, or by driving yourself and friends.

Do you provide transportation to Friendship? Not at this time.

However, the UT Shuttle IF and Capital Metro Bus #5 both have stops in front of the church building.

Where can I park? How much does it cost to park? Parking is free. There is a parking lot near the church between 38th and 39th streets on Speedway; there is a parking garage across from the church between 39th and 40th on Speedway, and you can park on the street--unless there is a "No Parking" sign prohibiting parking in that area.

How much does Friendship cost? There is no cost to be a part of Friendship--just your willingness to participate, have fun and meet new friends! Friendship is sponsored by Austin Area Baptist Churches.

Do you provide childcare? Hyde Park Baptist Church does during Friendship. Childcare is available for newborns to kindergarteners for a fee of $3 Thursday morning for one child or a maximum of $5 for the Thursday meeting for a family.

How do I know which class to go to? When you visit Friendship for the first time, a Friendship lady will give you a tour of all available classes. If you would like to attend a language class, there will be an interview to ensure that you are in the class that best meets your needs.

It is the middle of the semester, can I start Friendship now? YES!! Friendship welcomes new Friends each Thursday all year long! Come any Thursday between September and May, and we will get you enrolled and in a class!!
